Christmas Greeting Cards

First and foremost, I would like to thank the Cottrills, the Worthingtons and the Post family for sending us a Christmas card. It's such a pleasure to receive a greeting card from you guys! Muchas gracias...:)
Anyhow, this is my entry for this week's Nostalgia hosted by the ever sexy author of Nostalgic Marveling, sisRose. The photo above was taken last year. I called it the "Wall of Fame"...ehhehehe! Those are the Christmas greeting cards I received from both online and offline friends. This year I was not able to do it because right now our house is very chaotic. I'm still busy unpacking our stuff.

Red Ornaments

I heart this big-o tummy santa ornament at my BIL's house in California. We stayed at their house for a couple of days before we came back to Texas.
Akesha had a great time with her cousins. Meet Akesha's younger cousin, Alyssa. She is my BIL's youngest daughter and the youngest of the Dias 33 grandchildren. I believe she is 1/4 Spanish, 1/4 Caucasian, 1/4 Hawaiian and 1/4 Japanese.

Cell Culture

Stem cells and cell culture has been in the news a lot because of the possible health benefits it can give to people. For example, undifferentiated pluripotent stem cells can have the potential for unlimited expansion with the retention of normal karyotye and the ability to generate cells of three germ layers. There are many different types of cells that you should read about such as Embryonic stem cells & IPS cells and Hematopoietic stem & progenitor cells. If you want to learn more about stem cells and the variety of research, you should visit this website and read all their important information.

Mellow Yellow Monday

Akesha had a joyful Christmas celebration the most! She loves all her presents. She actually got a surprise Christmas present from the Cottrill's kids, Rye & EJ.
Among all the gifts we wrapped for her, she picked this gift first!
Thanks Cottrills family! You guys are so sweet! Akesha likes it!
I just don't understand my little girl. She always admire dinosaurs!
I'm glad I bought this for her. Her papa bought her some dinos and race track...lol!
And ducks! Yes, she likes ducks....she already have plenty of them!

Anniversary Love Letter

Joy, for me,
is loving you
and sharing daily life
With that special kind of closeness
between a husband and a wife….

Sharing quiet moments all alone when each day’s done
Discovering each other –
always something new to know –
Helping you, as you help me
to learn, and dream, and grow…
We’re lovers and companions,
best friends and partners, too –
More and more with everyday,
joy for me, is loving you!
Happy 6th Anniversary, Honey! I love you!!!

Hoover Dam

It was year 2006 and Akesha was 6-month old when we visited the famous Hoover Dam. We had a great time exploring the place, and it was amazing! Akesha was so behaved during our trip.
The Hoover Dam also known as Boulder Dam was one of the first ever concrete gravity-arch dams constructed in the United States.  Hoover Dam as it is more famously known was constructed over a five year process that stated in 1931 and ended in 1935 and is located in the Black Canyon of the Colorado River. One of the largest dams in the world, Hoover Dam is 660 feet thick (201 meters) and 726 feet tall (221 meters).

Give Love on Christmas Day

I think Christmas has been way to commercialized for way too long and big businesses have taken over. People now think more about what they’re getting and not what they’re giving. Honestly, I'd rather have it become more of a holiday get together with gifts only for the kids. Kids are always outgrowing things and they always enjoy different things as they get older.
Anyhow, this week's theme for Mommy Moments is all about gifts. "What are the gifts that we are planning to give to our kids this Christmas." Well for us, we are going to give our daughter a new princess bed, and some dinosaur toys for Christmas. Nothing too fancy. How about you?
We can make our kids pleased at Christmas by means of basic present giving and basic festivities in our residence. Because it has often been stated that Christmas is far more than just toys, it's often ideal to educate our kids that Christmas is really a time for sharing and giving along with a time to become thankful for all of the blessings that we received.

Red Amaryllis

This plant was given to me by my favorite FIL. He bought me a pot of Amaryllis plant four years ago. I like this plant a lot because they grow so quickly and blooms every year.
Wondering where this plant by now? I left it at our previous house in California because the moving company won't allow or carry any plants to transport long distance. I was upset when I found out about it. Hubby told me that he will replace it once we get settled in Texas. But I still want that same plant that my FIL gave me. I was thinking of going back to our old place, and see if it is still there...lol!

This is my entry for this week's Nostalgia.

Happy Birthday to the Man I Love!

Today is hubby's special day! Happy birthday Hon! I wish you good health and more years to come. I should have posted this earlier, but I was too busy wandering around...lol! Thanks a lot hon for everything. I don't have any flowering words to say...all I know is... I LOVE YOU and I always will. Happy Birthday!

MM: Christmas Tree

Christmas tree is the theme for this week's Mommy Moments. I remember growing up my mom always set up  a Christmas tree in our house. Remember those wooden Christmas tree? Yes we have one of those! I can't recall helping my mom decorating though. My daughter on the other hand is totally opposite. She loves helping me decorate our Christmas tree.
Never worry about the size of your Christmas tree. Big or small, in the eyes of children, they are all 30 feet tall.

"Best of all, Christmas means a spirit of love, a time when the love of God and the love of our fellow men should prevail over all hatred and bitterness, a time when our thoughts and deeds and the spirit of our lives manifest the presence of God." - George F. McDougall

RT: D' ICEE Bear

We went to Walmart last weekend to get some stuff for our house, when we're about to exit the store, the little miss saw the ICEE bear again. She then asked her papa to get her a cup of ICEE and did a quick pose next to the ICEE bear.

According to Wikipedia: The ICEE Company is a division of J&J Snack Foods Corp and is located in Ontario, California, USA. Its flagship product is the ICEE, which is a frozen carbonated beverage that comes in various fruit and soda flavors. ICEE also produces other frozen beverages, and Italian ice pops under both the ICEE and Slush Puppie brands. The company's mascot is an anthropomorphic cartoon polar bear.

Today, the ICEE Company has over 75,000 ICEE machines across the United States, which serve 300 million ICEEs per year. McDonald's and Subway restaurants inside Wal-Mart stores sell ICEEs. Burger King restaurants in the United States and Canada sell ICEEs and ICEE Floats. Target and Wawa also sell ICEEs inside their stores.

Last Christmas...

..is the theme for this week's Mommy Moments. I never thought that Christmas 2009 is our last Christmas in California. Christmas party is always at my BIL's house. Now this year we are going to celebrate Christmas by ourselves. Just only me, hubby, and Akesha plus Buddy...lol!
Our 2009 Family Photo...
Christmas Party at my BIL's house.....
Time to open the pressies....we always do it at midnight....Happy Christmas everyone!

Need A Door Hardware?

My family and I just transferred into our new house. Moving in to a new house is not easy. Not only we have to deal with unpacking boxes but we also have to deal with upgrading some parts of the house. My husband just bought some knobs and levers at the department store. I was mad at him because it was too expensive. I could have purchase them at schlage hardware for a very affordable price. I knew I can find some great deals on the web. Well, I think he is planning to return them this weekend.

Christmas Tree

It’s Nostalgia time! Thanks to sis Rose for creating this nostalgic meme. Anyhow, here’s my entry for this week. Sharing some photos of our Christmas tree from year 2007-2009. Pardon me if I can't find the 2005 & 2006 photos on my photo folder. Anyhow, does your tree have a color theme? I used to decorate our tree with a variety of colors but I decided to not do it anymore.
Our 2007 red & white Christmas tree....
Our 2008 white Christmas tree....
Our 2009 silver & gold Christmas tree....this year, my Christmas tree color theme is silver and blue...I'm still working on it though. I started setting up our tree this morning. I hope I am able to get it done tomorrow.
