ABC Wednesday: D is for Doll

This doll is one of the "beauty ladies of China". Xi Shi is one of the 4 Chinese women who renowned for their most beauty in legendary ancient China. The Four Beauties are the most beautiful and significant women in ancient.
I bought this doll online from China. I'm trying to collect one of every Asian dolls.
Their stories all are based on fact but they are also steeped in legend. The stories of the Four Beauties remained famous until today because of their effect on the Ancient Chinese Emperors and Kingdoms with whom they were involved. Some of the Four Beauties brought kingdoms and dynasties then ruin and most of them ended their lives in tragedy.
Xi Shi was a legendary beauty of the Spring and Autumn period (770-476 B.C.) in ancient China, An apperance of Xi Shi is said to be so entrancingly beautiful that fish would forget how to swim and sink away from the surface when she walks by.
This is my entry for this week's ABC Wednesday. Thanks for dropping by!

My mom-in-law had many dolls somewhat like that. When she died my husband and his brother sold it to different people. My husband left three dolls and I place them in an area in between our kitchen and dining room. Unfortunately I broke one of the dolls a week ago. I am glad hubby did not get mad at me but I felt sad because those are only the few things left that came from my mother-in-law.
