South Shore Platform Beds

South Shore Furniture Industries is considered as the leader in North American furniture manufacturing. It was in 1940, when Mr. Eugene Laflamme purchased a bankrupt toy business. Mr. Laflamme decided to diversify the company’s product line. They began to offer kitchen tables and chairs.

South Shore Furniture Industries released its line of Bedroom Furniture in 1952 which include items such as Southshore Dressers, Southshore Nightstands, Southshore Beds, Southshore Desks as well as Mirrors and Armoires. The release of the South Shore Furniture Bedroom Line was the beginning of the company’s success.

Guy Laflamme, Eugene Laflamme’s son, has succeeded as the company’s chairman in 1970. He initiated steps that contributed to the company’s exponential success. Only eight years after becoming South Shore Furniture’s chairman, Guy Laflamme has three factories running smoothly. He has invested and expanded each factory, making South Shore Furniture Industries a powerhouse in the home and business furnishing industries.

Jean Laflamme, a third generation member of the family, was appointed President and CEO of South Shore Furniture Industries in 1999. Through his leadership and initiative, South Shore Platform Beds Furniture Industries now furnishes homes and offices all across North America.
