I hurriedly went inside and grabbed my camera. Freaky, he looked at me! |
The Texas Spiny Lizard (Sceloporus olivaceus) is a fairly common resident of most of Texas; its range also extends northward into Oklahoma and southward well into Mexico. It spends a great deal of time on fence posts and in trees where it searches for food, but can be encountered on rocks or on the ground as well. - Greg Lasley
This is my entry for this week's Camera Critters.

What a cute fellow!
I thought it would be an iguana, too, after I saw the thumbnail photo. Now that I think about it, this might be only the second time I've seen a picture of a Texas Spiny Lizard, so I had a right to be wrong. LOL
Would NOT want to step outside and see one of these on my deck, however, even if he is quite small. I wonder what kind of food it finds on fence posts.

I think I'd have nearly had a heart attack too! We don't get visitors like that around here.
Well, the lizard was giving it to you. He has that camera flick thing going on. hahaha.. nakasabot imoha gipicture-ran, mommy Dhemz. My goodness, it looks freaky, but beautiful in its own nature.

This is also the first time I have seen such a kind of lizard. But it's beautiful with silvery scales. It is quite oversized for an ordinary house lizard and I can't blame you for being afraid of it the first time you saw it. Did Akesha see it too? Thanks for the post. God bless you all always.
I like your instinct to grab your camera instead of screaming. :))
HA! I love it. Great picture. He is SO looking at you.
