ahaha, i may know quite few facts about pigs, but surely, this is the 1st time i heard that line. maybe true, they get healthy thru endless digging of food in the dirt:)

It depends on the pig sis. We raised pigs most of the time when I was growing up and our pigs live in house that Papa built and they were clean.

From what I've heard and seen, no - a happy, healthy pig is very clean. They don't like having their food and their toilet area close to each other at all.

However, they like to roll in wet mud to keep cool and to prevent sunburn, so perhaps that's where that idea comes from.

Pigs are by nature dirty since they love to wallow in the mud. Those who are tended in sanitary farms are far less liable to contact diseases hence they are safer to be eaten. Thanks for the post. God bless you all always.
