Fun Ways To Take Family Photos...With A Difference

When it comes to our families, we’re obviously very sentimental. We want to hold on to memories of our children being young and all the fun times we’ve shared for as long as possible. Which is probably why we’re all so prone to snap snap snapping away with your smartphones. But where do those photographs go? Perhaps on Facebook, Snapchat, Instagram, or made into collages, but how often do you print and frame those pictures for posterity? It seems that sometimes we take so many day-to-day photographs, we’re losing the love of the official family photo. So here are just a few fun ways to get the perfect family photographs for the best family memories.
Give dress-up a go
Putting on your Sunday best and smiling for the camera is one way to get the family photos, but for an altogether more ridiculous album, give family dress up a go. You could all dress in your culture’s traditional dress, or as a posh Victorian family, try to keep a straight face for the picture, and put a traditional sepia filter on it. Or you could give the sci-fi look a go, the world is your oyster, but there’s nothing quite as funny as a dress-up family photograph where everyone’s getting involved.

Go aerial
You could all get dressed up and stand in a studio or in front of a beautiful backdrop and take photos. Or you could take it to the next level. With drone technology becoming more and more accessible, the opportunity to take family photographs from some seriously jaunty angle is now possible. With some of the best drones under 300 dollars available on the market, the cost isn’t too extreme, and it’s a fun, interesting, and unique way to create beautiful lasting photos. You could head out to the beach, photograph your home and your land from high up, or even take some incredible video footage of your family and your home that you can watch back for years to come.

Make the most of the sunset
If you’d prefer something a little bit more sensible, artistic, and altogether more beautiful, it’s time to make the most of the sunset (or sunrise, if you’ve got tiny kids!). Check the times, and then choose your location. Make sure it’s somewhere which really makes the most of the beautiful light. Then head out with the family, a few games, a picnic, and the camera, and make the most of it. Family photos silhouetted in front of the sunset can look truly stunning.

Head underwater
Underwater disposable cameras are cheap and cheerful, but can create some seriously fun and unique shots. Whether you’re in the pool with props and silliness, or you’re heading out for a session snorkeling in the sea - take your underwater camera with you. It adds a whole new dimension and interest to the snap, and you can capture some really fun and exciting experiences.
Family photographs don’t have to be the traditional studio style anymore. Give something new a go, and shake it up a bit. The beauty of digital cameras is that, if it looks ridiculous, you can delete it and pretend it never happened.
