Constipation is a common problem that can make kids miserable. It can be tough to talk about, but constipation is a big back-to-school problem. When it’s time for #2, kids might be too shy to ask to use the restroom and avoid going altogether, which can lead to a common, but uncomfortable, issue: constipation. If your child is constipated, you know how distracting that can be.
Every time my eldest daughter is suffering from constipation, I initially take the home remedy route. I make sure that she's getting enough fluids and add more fiber into her diet. I let her eat either apples or pears. I also limit her fast food or junk food intake. Most importantly, I make sure she gets into the habit of regular bowel movements after a meal. If those natural remedies mentioned above aren’t working for you, you may need to try a laxative or stool softener.
Do you know that 65% of parents (of children aged 2 – 11) admit to treating their children’s constipation with an adult laxative? But there have been reports of sides effects in children, like behavioral and speech issues, resulting from one of the main ingredients in adult laxatives. Therefore, pediatric specialist, Dr. Nina Shapiro, urges parents to choose treatment options that are specifically made for children, like Pedia-Lax®.
Pedia-Lax® is the only pediatric brand offering a full line of laxative products that are fast, safe and specifically made just for kids to help support digestive health and ease constipation. Pedia-Lax® products are available in a variety of forms to meet a child’s specific needs.
Pedia-Lax® Chewable Tablets are formulated for kids ages 2-11, come in a tasty watermelon flavor and provide quick relief (within 30 minutes) and last up to 6 hours. They offer a gentle relief without the painful cramping sometimes associated with laxatives.
My daughter prefers taking this instead because it's chewable and she likes the tastes compared to the liquid ones. I highly recommend this product to every parent who has to deal with constipated children. Note: Make sure to read the dosage chart as you are to give 1-3 tablets (2-6 yrs. old) and 3-6 tablets (6-12 yrs. old.)

My youngest has never been regular. Ever. I am going to have to pick up some of these.
This is perfect for kids! I would never give a child an adult laxative. I need to tell my daughter about these.
I need to pick these up for my kids. My son needs these. He isn't always regular, and then when it finally comes, it's gross and basically stinks us out of our home.
Nice to know there is a product out there that helps children. Makes it easier for them and parents
This sounds perfect for kids. I have to look into getting some for my home and keeping it on hand.
When Rye was a baby, she had a very irregular bowel movement and it was causing her pain. We couldn't use anything but natural remedy like sweet potato.
I love that photo of Akesh! Hope all is well, we miss Atarah's smiles!
It is so good that there is a laxative specifically for kids. This is a vey common problem and will help so many kids and parents.
Good to know they make these for kids. I know a lot of them suffer poor babies!
It can be stressful for parent and kid when the child is really young and doesn't understand how to deal with constipation. It can even be a little frightening for the little ones. This product is great to have ate the ready.
I haven't heard of this product. It looks helpful for parents, though. I will have to check it out.
It's so wonderful that there is a children's product to help with this issue! I'm passing this along to my friend who has young children.
My two youngest could sure use these. Very irregular at best they are
Being irregular can be seriously bad for your health. I would really like to look into this.
I do really feel bad when I see my niece or nephew not feeling well due to constipation. Good thing there's a medicine like Pedia-Lax that you knew, a brand that you can trust.
Me and my colleguae just recently talked about her daughter experiencing constipation for a few days and I guess this would be really of help to solve her kids problem.
I had no idea that they offered something like this. I've never seen this brand either!
There's nothing better than taking good care of our child's gut health. It definitely affects their whole well being. This supplement sounds like the perfect solution for constipation!
What a mistake to use adult laxatives for children! They are way too strong and kids end up feeling ill. Glad to know there is an alternative that is chewable, as it's far easier to get the kids to take it.
I can’t imagine giving my kids an adult laxative. We had issues with constipation in this house, but we definitely never did the adult kind. I’m glad to know there is an option for kids.
