House of the Dukes of Brabant

⬅️⬅️⬅️ This elegant old facade situated on the Grand Place in Brussels is the House of the Dukes of Brabant.

On the first floor, under the windows of each building, the statues of the dukes can be seen. Hence the name House of the Dukes.

Surprisingly, no duke or king actually lived in this building. The house features 7 departments, each of them having a name: The Fame, The Hermit, The Fortune, The Windmill, The Tin Pot, The Hill, The Beurs.

This historic edifice was built in 1697 and restored in 1890 and 1990.
