Health Benefits of Swimming

Swimming is, in general, regarded as a nice way of helping you improve your blood flow and heart rate and help maintain your weight. But for so many people, these are the only benefits they see with swimming. They do not realize that the benefits of swimming go beyond those things. As a matter of fact, this activity has benefits that other exercises do not have. Check out this infographic below about the different health benefits of swimming

I can't swim, but both of my boys love swimming. They are both self taught.

I can't swim either but my children do and that keeps me a little less nervous. Thanks for sharing this list of great benefits!

I used to be a really good swimmer but I don't think I really have the skills anymore. I should get back in a pool and practice! It's GREAT exercise, for sure.

I don't swim well at all, I just learned not too long ago. I wish I was better at it, it's a great exercise.

It wasn't until I reached college that I had to face my fear of swimming. If you didn't pass the swim test or take lessons, then you did not graduate. I took lessons, and I actually learned how to swim, and I can go underwater and above water in a 9-foot pool for a short distance without completely panicking. I still remember all of the tips and tricks that my swim instructor (who was a girl from the swim team) taught me during my lessons. I wish I could do it for exercise.

I used to take swimming lessons at my local Y but stopped when life got busy. I might try it again if they extend another invite to me.
