Texas Renaissance Festival | Sherwood Forest Faire #SherwoodForestFaire #sherwoodfaire

Hooray for Spring Break! If you and your family are looking for something to do during Spring Break, you might want to visit and experience the medieval era at Sherwood Forest Faire in McDade, Texas.
Last weekend, my family and I were given another opportunity to escape from the real world and stepped back to a time of dungeons and dragons, knights and peasants, and kings and queens.  Our last visit to Sherwood Forest was way back in 2012. It feels awesome to be back there again!
Sherwood Forest Faire is a Renaissance Festival based on the tales of Robin Hood and his Merry Men.

Founded in 2010, Sherwood Forest is a 23 acre permanent village set in the beautiful Lost Pines region of Texas.
It features well over 100 permanent buildings including shoppes, pubs, restaurants and stages.
There are plenty of rides and games for the kids, and moms and dads can find a refreshing beverage at one of their six pubs. Plenty of vendors showcasing their unique handcrafted crafts and some costume shops available at different spots.
Daughter had a blast feeding the animals and got a chance to get on the camel's back. Make sure to bring some CASH because everything cost money inside the forest.
They are open for business over eight weekends in February and March for a medieval-themed show with over 100 musical, comedic and dramatic performances per day, including a full-contact heavy armor joust, falconry show, feasts, and wine tastings - all in period costume and character.

One of my family's favorite shows at the faire, the joust!
I love how everyone dresses up as and act like they're in a different world.
Some guests are really into it by renting costumes and playing along and getting into character. Now I'm thinking of wearing my medieval costume on our next visit.

Not to mention, Sherwood Forest Faire accommodate weddings, receptions, reunions, corporate gatherings and summer camps.
Their spectacular hall will seat over 200 guests and features dressing rooms, as well as rooms to rent overnight as a part of your wedding celebration!
I have to say that my family and I had another amazing experience at Sherwood Forest Faire. This place is absolutely filled with magic and tons of lively entertainment. It's a unique experience that everyone should try at least once. For more details or would like to purchase tickets, you should visit sherwoodforestfaire.com. Don't forget to like them on Facebook or follow them on Twitter for updates and promotions. So what are you waiting for?

Disclosure: I received complimentary tickets for me and my family to visit Sherwood Forest Faire in exchange for a fair review.

My brother has taken my nephew to our local Renaissance Fair at least two times, and hasn't bothered to call me up to go. I would LOVE to go to something like this. I do not recall them saying that a camel was there, though. Cool!
