Discover Roatan | Meet The Locals

Here's the continuation of our Roatan Adventure.
This Garifuna lady showed us how to make the ereba bread known as yucca flat bread or cassava bread. The bread is made from grated cassava and salt. She demonstrated it really well.
We got a chance to try the bread after cooking it for a few minutes using the traditional clay stove. It tastes pretty similar to boiled potato. The yucca flat bread is part of their daily meals.
Some souvenirs for sale.
Our next stop was visiting a small Garifuna village. This is what their traditional homes look like. It's made of mud and clay with roofs of brush and river cane.
The average income for the people of Roatan a day is $2.00. I know it isn't that much, but yet the people seem so happy over there. It reminds me of the Philippines. Simple living.
Ayay, another food tasting! After exploring the small village, our tour guide took us to this little shack. We tasted this delicious coconut milk fish and plantain dish that is a local favorite. I really like that dish!

Shopping For Caster Wheel Replacements

There are plenty of different furniture pieces and other items that are designed for mobility and portability. Caster wheels make it possible to roll around heavy items that would be very difficult to lift and transport without any other forms of mechanical leverage. Computer chairs come with different caster wheels that make it easy for rolling around an office space without getting up every time there is a need to move a relatively small distance. Caster wheels are typically attached to a five point star base of a computer task chair.

Some tables are also compatible with casters that provide easy mobility. For example, large conference tables and ballroom tables can be fitted with casters for moving around large spaces. The casters can be taken off in order to stabilize the table on any floor surface. Computer desks also come with caster wheels that provide mobility in an office space. The casters can be set on brake when the desk reaches a final destination in a particular work area of an office.

Commercial quality items may also need caster wheels for proper function. For example, shopping carts need to be equipped with wheels that can roll smoothly in the parking lots and inside stores. When left alone, the shopping carts need to have an automatic mechanism for braking by twisting the wheels in different directions. Shopping carts tend to wear out caster wheels because of the heavy duty use by busy stores such as supermarkets.

Medical equipment also requires caster wheels for mobility in hospitals, clinics and other facilities. For example, gurneys and hospital beds are loaded with heavy duty casters that provide easy transport of a patient. Similarly, specialized equipment that is used to perform tests and other monitoring procedures is also connected to caster wheels for convenient movement throughout medical facilities.

The best caster wheels are made of aluminum materials with reinforced steel frames. Some light duty casters are made of durable rubber that doesn't wear out quickly. Casters also need to have shock absorbing properties in order to guard the items that are attached. Online suppliers of casters can sell their products in bulk. Such dealers have their own websites that feature entire catalogs of caster wheels for various applications. A "visit this website" link invites customers to explore caster wheels for commercial and residential use. Caster wheels can be found based on specific dimensions and features.

Spring Break Starts at #Schlitterbahn | #BahnLove

Hooray, it's official! My family and I are heading to South Padre Island next week for Spring Break. It's going to be a long drive for us from San Antonio, but I'm pretty confident that we can handle it. After all, we are used to travel long distances.
We're actually super excited about this upcoming trip because we will be staying at the famous Schlitterbahn Waterparks and Resorts in South Padre Island for five days. It's going to be an epic spring break getaway! I will definitely keep you posted while we're there.

We've been to Schlitterbahn in New Braunfels quite a few times, and we always have a blast when we go there.
Have you been to Schlitterbahn? If you did, what are your favorite memories at the park?

Plus, they allow you to pack your own picnic lunch while enjoying your day at the park.
This picture makes me want to jump in.
Schlitterbahn Waterparks and Resorts in South Padre Island is a 15-acre waterpark paradise. Enjoy 11 world-class attractions, roar down 13 amazing water slides, feast at the Shrimp Haus full-service restaurant or kick back and relax on the beach.

Located on the pristine beaches of the Gulf of Mexico, this exciting new 221-room beachfront resort destination includes lodging, family suites, great Gulf beaches, fantastic dining location options and unlimited use of both the resort’s indoor and outdoor waterparks.

Get Organized With Garage Cabinets

Have you ever walked through a home as a potential buyer? Imagine what it’s like to open the garage door and find a strikingly clean garage and plenty of nice garage cabinets. Cabinets of different sizes, some with shelving, some with doors, and everything is stored away nice and neat. Wouldn't that be nice? You too can have this type of garage when you take advantage of garage cabinets, like the cabinets you can get at GarageAppeal.com and other retail locations, and make your garage the envy of the neighborhood.

Real estate agents agree that having well-designed garage cabinets adds value to your home in two ways. First, like other home improvements, they are valuable to a potential buyer – if that is something the buyer wants to use. Who can’t use good storage solutions? More importantly, garage shelving units help de-clutter the garage and hide items that would be clutter around your home – the utility room, bathroom, kitchen and closets. When you have storage that is too crowded inside a house, it has a negative affect on potential buyers. This is why storing items in your garage cabinets is a huge plus for a home.

Never think of the installation of your garage cabinets as an expense. This is a true investment. Not only will you be able to better utilize your garage, but you can recoup all the money you previously spent on other garage door solutions. If you have any plans to sell your home, don’t forget to put those cabinets to use by “de-cluttering” the garage before you list your home. Any real estate agent will tell you that if a buyer sees all your stuff scattered all over, they assume they won’t have enough storage space in your house either.

So which type of garage cabinets will give you the most value? The answer is two-fold. The first has to do with how flexible they are and how well the cabinets match what a potential home buyer would want. The second has to do with the quality, style and inherent attractiveness of the cabinets.

Well-designed cabinets made from good material are top-quality cabinets. Avoid any flimsy, particle-board cabinets, shoddy doors, or cabinets with a poor paint finish. Even though the cabinets aren’t going to be in a showroom, you still want them to convey functionality and strength in the garage.

Discover Roatan | Rusty Shipwreck Tour

After our Garifuna experience, our tour guide took us to the Rusty Shipwreck.
The boat behind us reminds me of the ship in the movie, The Pirate's of the Carribean.
We have to take a local small boat to get to our destination.
Roatan is one of the few places where you can see a real shipwreck.
Two wrecks grounded close together within the confines of Dixon Cove are Dixon Cove Wrecks. According to our tour guide, both wrecks have been decaying there since the 1970s.
There are a few mysterious stories about these ships. Some claim one ship, with a cargo of lumber, ran aground in a storm. The second ship came to assist, and also ended up on the reef. Others say the cargo was marble. One version maintains one was a Cayman-owned vessel run aground intentionally for insurance. Rumors persist that the ships were involved in the Nicaraguan revolution, then abandoned. Longtime residents report that the wrecks were two separate incidents. One did carry lumber; the other carried paint. Both ships caught fire and were abandoned.
What a very fascinating piece of history.
Here's our ship waiting for us to get on board...:)

Distortion Pedal

As you learn how to play the guitar you will find that there are guitar accessories that you will need quite soon. Some of the essential guitar accessories that you will need are tuners, picks, spare strings, guitar case and straps. You can also buy a sturdy guitar case if you plan to bring your guitar with you when you travel. You don’t have to worry about shopping for every guitar accessory that you will need because you can conveniently shop for them online from online retailers that offer not just the usual musical instruments but also accessories and other audio and video equipment such as amplifiers and distortion pedal from musicians friend.

Boss Drum

Buying gift items can be tricky especially if you want to give something different from the usual gift items that you see at the mall. You may want to consider giving something unique and practical, something that the recipient will benefit from in more ways than one. Consider buying practical gift items that the recipient will use regularly such as items that they can use at school or at work or products that are related to their hobbies and interests. If you are giving a gift to someone who is music enthusiast, you can consider giving a music player, a boss drum or a guitar.

Discover Roatan | #Yübu - The Garífuna Experience

When your ship arrives at its debarkation port, it is your choice to get off the boat or not. Since my family and I love adventure, we decided to explore and learn something about the country. Shore excursions are not cheap, but are worth it if you want to venture to attractions and all that kind of stuff.
We chose the "Discover Roatan" shore excursion for $59.99 each. The tour includes learning about the history of Roatan, boat ride, sample delicious jams made by the locals, and meet the people of the Garifuna tribe.
First stop was meeting the Garifuna locals. We were greeted by this fella...yay! I have to hold Akesha's chest before she ran away...lol! She don't want to take a picture with the guy. She did smile though...lol!
The experience begins with a 30- to 35-minute historical talk about the Garífuna’s beginnings and their brutal passage to Roatán.
An uplifting dance demonstration was performed.
They asked the audience to participate. I didn't dance but hubby did...lol! He got to experience the Garifuna dance. He had a blast shaking his booty...lol!

Credit Repair Service

A low credit rating can be brought about by different factors such as being late on your car payments or constantly going over the limit on your credit card. Poor financial management and decisions which lead to poor credit rating can have negative effects on many aspects of your life. You may find it difficult to secure a financing loan on the vehicle or property that you want to purchase if the bank or financial institution gets hold of your bad credit report. There are, however, steps that you can take to help improve your credit standing. There are credit repair companies that can provide you with the services that you need like Chase and Bank of America, Wellsfargo and more. They can help look into your credit report and make sure that it contains only accurate information. They can help you dispute or remove any negative information that they may find on your credit report. Through their services, you will slowly be able to improve your credit standing and help you with matters related to your finances. You might want to visit Merchant Account Checkup website for more details.

Get More Facebook Likes and Followers

Social media is fast becoming an important part of how effectively a business is able to achieve their marketing goals. Even small businesses and new players have the potential to tap into a wider market if they are able to maximize the use of social media. Nowadays, businesses aim to get as many Fan Likes as they can for their business page because it means that they will also increase the potential of reaching a wider market. They use effective strategies to increase followers because they know that their business will benefit greatly from it. Through their business page, they can keep their followers informed and updated on their latest products and offers. They can also use the feedback and comments that they get from their customers in developing ways to improve their products and services. If you are a small business entrepreneur who is looking for a more affordable but effective marketing campaign that provides faster results then the use of social media should be on top of your list.

Mahogany Bay, Isla Roatan | #Honduras

After sailing for two days, we have finally arrived at our first destination, HONDURAS! We arrived at the pier at seven in the morning.
Honduras is not a very large country located in Central America. Their primary language is Spanish.
Roatan is a small island close to the mainland of Honduras.
Honduras reminds me of the Philippines especially the tropical climate. The people and the way of living is somewhat similar to the PI.
I'll show you some photos of the locals soon.
Taking a quick picture before exploring the island.

Flying Fun on the Water

Whether you’re a seasoned wakeboarding enthusiast or a novice to the sport, you need equipment that is reliable and innovative to fully enjoy your time spent on the water. Wakeboarders will get the best rides and experience from being towed by a boat designed for wakeboarding. The most significant difference a wakeboarding boat must have compared to a ski boat is the wakeboard tower. A tower raises the pull point above the water for the wakeboarder.

Other vital equipment to transform your boat into wakeboarding nirvana consist of tower lights, wakeboard mirrors, wakeboard racks, wakeboard speakers and pylons designed for the sport. You can find plenty of online sites, such as WakeEssentials.com that carry these products plus accessories like flags and poles to outfit your boat.

Finding the equipment you like is important but purchasing it from a business that stands behind its products is another important feature for your complete satisfaction. Customer service and return policies aren’t always equal so look for ones that put you, the customer, first. Return policies should be clearly explained and customer service reps should be knowledgeable and ready to answer any questions you have. Site security and payment options are other features to consider, as well as reasonable shipping policies and expected timelines for delivery.

Fun Times | Sea Day 2

Enjoying the sunny day after brunch.

After playing a few games, we headed to the Seaside Theater and watched some bands.

This is our favorite spot. We love to read our books here and hang out.
Going back to the cabin for an afternoon nap. Gotta have a quick picture with the animal towel...lol!

Rent A Cabin for Your Next Family Vacation

Tired of visiting the same places every year on your family vacation? Maybe it's time to try something different and go somewhere new. Mixing things up gives you and your family a chance for making new memories together and having adventures you'll never forget. Here are 6 great family vacations you can plan together this year.

1. Disney World
If you haven't taken your family there yet, now is the time! It can truly be a magical place, and if you can plan a vacation time during the off-season, the lines aren't too terribly long. This is an especially great trip for younger children, who will love meeting their movie heroes in real life.

2. National Parks in the Southwest
There's more to see in Arizona than just the Grand Canyon. Rent a cabin in or near any one of the gorgeous state parks in the area, such as Zion National Park, and spend your days enjoying some of the most beautiful scenery you'll ever see in the United States.

3. The Bahamas
With family rates on cruises and resorts, you can enjoy a once-in-a-lifetime extravagant vacation with your partner and children. Swim in the ocean, enjoy the water slides, and go to exhibits showing off the local ocean wildlife. Those who love the beach can frolic outside while those who prefer an indoor vacation can take advantage of all the amenities a resort has to offer.

4. New York City
The Big Apple has plenty to offer kids and adults alike, making it a great family vacation destination. Touch dinosaur fossils at the Museum of Natural History, or take in a family-friendly Broadway show like Wicked or The Lion King. Don't forget to sample some of New York's famous pizza!

5. California Road Trip
If you and your family love road trips, take the leisurely scenic route along the coast of California. From San Francisco to San Diego, you'll find beautiful camping spots and plenty of cultural attractions to explore. Travel at your own pace and enjoy the countryside.

6. Snowbird, Utah
Not every vacation has to be a summertime visit. Consider taking your family skiing on the famous Snowbird slopes. They're ready to accommodate all levels of skiers, from the expert eager to challenge himself to the 5-year-old just putting on skis for the first time. It's a great time to bond with your family and try something new!

Fun Times | Sea Day 1

When we go on a cruise, I always make sure to get up early and run 7 laps around the SkyTrack running course or go to the gym. Yes, the ship is big enough to have all those amenities! With all the FREE food on board, you'll definitely need to do some exercising...lol!
At 5am while doing my sunrise stretching.  Everybody was still sleeping...lol!
You will never get bored because there's tons and plenty of activities for everyone. One day is not enough to explore the entire ship. Hey, Carnival Magic has 15 decks!
Watching Punchliner with George Lopez before bed time.
Another surprise from our lovely stewardess. I love going back to our cabin every night.

Here are some photos that I pulled out online:

That's how big the ship is.

Some entertainment above the deck.
Main Lobby.

All Aboard!

After going through the custom at the cruise terminal, we have to wait for our assigned room and luggage. The waiting wasn't bad at all. Since we're kind of familiar with the ship, we decided to hang out at the Showtime Theater for awhile.

We settled at last after waiting for a few minutes and had our luggage delivered to our cabin. We headed right away to Lido Marketplace and had a sumptuous dinner. Lido Marketplace is a casual buffet restaurant where they serve you an ample selection of food.
After dinner we went to Ocean Plaza and brought some dessert with us.
When you get on Carnival cruise, always expect an immaculate room...they clean twice a day (am and pm)! Plus, they leave an animal towel and chocolates each night.

Summer Vacation: May-June, 2013

DV Mark Amp

One of the biggest benefits of buying a musical instrument online is that you will have the opportunity to get huge savings on your purchases. Aside from the wide selection of musical instruments, gear and accessories that online stores offer, you also get to buy most of them in discounted rates. Most online retailers offer regular discounts on popular items such as the guitars, keyboards and dv mark amp at guitar center. To make sure that you’re getting the best deals on quality products, you can read expert reviews and customer feedbacks on the items that you want to purchase and compare prices to see which stores offer the most competitive price.

Our 2nd Cruise Escapade via Carnival Magic

I've been longing to blog about our previous trips and some of them are long overdue already. I'll try my best to post each of them here. And I guess I'll have to schedule each post.

Our second cruise escapade was a blast! We left the country right after our daughter finished first grade. We actually had an early summer vacation last year. It was a 7-day cruise from Galveston, Texas to Mahogany Bay (Honduras), Belize, and Cozumel (Mexico). We left on May 26th and came back on the 2nd of June, 2013.
Visiting 3 countries in a week is not enough time to see and explore each country, but it was an ideal trip for my family. Cruise vacation is a lot cheaper!
